Why would you need a Venogram?
The purpose of having a Venogram performed is to confirm the diagnosis of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). A Venogram would also be performed to determine if the problem with the vein is a clot or blockage. Venograms are useful in determining what is causing swelling or leg pain in your leg. It may also be used to find out if you have suffered from a pulmonary embolism, which is when a blood clot has traveled to the lung.
