Education

Dr. Mittal was born and educated in India. He has spent nearly 20 years living and practicing in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Mittal completed his undergraduate studies at S.D. Inter College in Muzzafarnagar, U.P, India and then received his medical training at the Government Medical School and Hospital in Patiala, Punjab, India.

Training

After graduating from medical school with excellent grades, Dr. Mittal completed a medical internship and a residency which included six months of training in anesthesiology and sixteen months of training in ophthalmology. Later he completed a cardiology fellowships at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and Brooklyn Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Prior to starting his own cardiology practice, Dr. Mittal practiced medicine at the MidAtlantic Nephrology Center in Camp Spring, Maryland, Good Samaritan Hospital at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland, and Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York.

Most recently, Dr. Mittal received specialty training in interventional cardiology from Samin K. Sharma, M.D., Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Intervention, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York.

Research

Dr. Mittal has assisted Howard Freidman, M.D., in research projects at Brooklyn Hospital and Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His projects included a study on the interaction of Theophylline and Digoxin on the heart.
