About Heart Disease
Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States for men and women. Our goal is to help change that by raising awareness of the risk factors for heart disease, within the communities we serve through education. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart. Cardiovascular Disease treatment depends on your symptoms and how severe the heart disease is. There are several options including medicines to treat heart disease, blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Following these directions closely can help prevent coronary artery disease from getting worse. Other heart conditions, such as infections and conditions that affect your heart muscle, valves or rhythm, also are considered forms of heart disease.
